Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding is one of the Nodal Centres of the Forest Research Institute `University' conducts the Doctoral Programme in Forestry. A student can pursue research and studies leading to an award of Ph.D. degree at IFGTB Centre, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Excellent research facilities in the field of Forestry and allied subjects are available at the Institute affiliated under FRI University. At present over 14 research scholars have been registered and pursuing their Ph.D. thesis work. Till now 43 Ph.D. degrees have been awarded.
